Khaikam, 14 Marchs

A ceremony to open a municipal market built at a cost of over K 5.99 million by the development committee was held at the market, No 1 Ward, Khaikam, Tedim Township, Chin State on 12 March.

At the ceremony Rev Zam Za Thang said prayers, followed the opening ceremony in which Chin State Chief Minister U Lian Luai and the officials cutting the ribbons. After that, the ceremony continued at the market in which Chief Minister delivered an opening speech whereas locals performed traditional dances. Next, the Chief Minister and Ministers inspected the new market.

The market was made up of 25 shops with an area of 10 square feet each and constructed by Thuam Vum Company. The shops of the markets will be sold at the prices set by state government.—Khaikam IPRD
