China's latest producer prices data suggest the country's manufacturers are still suffering the effects of weak demand and the trade dispute with the United States.
China's National Bureau of Statistics says the Producer Price Index fell 0.5 percent in December from a year earlier. That's the sixth consecutive month of declines, although the size of the drop is the smallest since July.
Consumer prices, on the other hand, rose 4.5 percent last month, as food prices jumped more than 17 percent. Pork prices almost doubled year-on-year. Outbreaks of African swine fever across the country have put pressure on supplies.
