Chinese Embassy, Jack Ma Foundation, Alibaba Foundation donate Covid-19 medical supplies

Chinese Embassy, Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donated medical supplies to the Ministry of Health and Sports for fighting against Covid-19 pandemic yesterday morning.

Ms Li Xiaoyan, the Minister Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, explained the coordination between China and Myanmar in prevention, containment and treatment of Covid-19.

Director-General Dr Thar Tun Kyaw of the ministry expressed thanks and presented the certificate of honour to the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai for the donations of over 2,000 detection kits, 5,000 suits of the personal protective equipment, 5,000 N95 masks and 200,000 surgical masks.

Mr Ron Aung, representing the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation, presented 100,000 units of N95 masks and 28,800 detection kits.

Professor Dr Zaw Than Tun, the Director-General of the Department of Medical Research, received the donated items and returned the certificate of honour. —MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
