THE Chinese rescue team could save four people alive overnight in Mandalay, according to the Embassy of the People’s Repub­lic of China in Myanmar.

 

Jointly by Chinese rescue and Ramunion rescue, three people- a five-year-old child, a pregnant woman and a 29-year-old woman were rescued at 5:37 am and 6:20 am the local time on 31 March after they had been trapped for more than 60 hours inside the Sky Villa which had collapsed in the quake in Man­dalay.

 

Another woman who was trapped in the Great Wall Hotel was saved alive on the same day, it said.

 

On 30 March at around 10 am, the State Administra­tion Council Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met Yunnan rescue members and expressed his appreciation for arriving in Myanmar shortly af­ter the quake.
