China and South Korea's foreign ministers held talks in Seoul on Thursday, as both countries fight the coronavirus pandemic and its economic effects.

China's Wang Yi is continuing a diplomatic mission that began earlier this week in Tokyo. He discussed the pandemic with South Korea's Kang Kyung-wha.

Wang said that he thanked Seoul for its support when China was in a difficult situation because of the coronavirus.

Kang said that they hope their two countries will see this as a chance to cooperate more closely, not only to tackle the coronavirus but also to revive their economies, and sustain regional peace and security.

Wang will meet with President Moon Jae-in later on Thursday.
