Mawlamyine Kyun, 10 June

A collective tree planting ceremony was held on 10 June in May Ohn Pin Su Village, Mawlamyine Kyun Township, Ayeyarwady Region, under the leadership of the Township Administration Body and organized by the Forestry Department. The event aimed to promote environmental greening, reduce local temperatures, prevent deforestation, and encourage the use of fast-growing trees for energy.

Saplings were distributed by the Chairman of the Township Administration Body, U Khin Maung Oo, and staff from the Forestry Department. Around 250 people attended the ceremony, including local officials, forestry staff, members of social organizations, teachers, and students.

A total of 800 saplings were planted, including 450 mango, 300 mahogany, 30 teak, and 20 pyinkadoe trees.— Ye Ko Maung (IPRD)
