Mong Hsu, 8 June
A collective tree-planting ceremony took place in Haikkhong Village in Womsaw village tract of Mong Hsu Township, Shan State (South) this morning.
At the event, Chairman of the District Administration Council U Maung Maung Lwin delivered an opening speech. This was followed by handing over of tree saplings to officials by U Maung Maung Lwin, Colonel Win Ko Ko and Police Lt-Col Myat Min Htway.
With the aim of keeping the environment green and maintaining soil and temperature, staff from the District and Township Administration Council, departmental officials, members of Maternal and Child Welfare Association, members of Women’s Affairs Federation, teachers, students and locals participated in the event and jointly grew 380 saplings including gold mohur tree (Seinpan), mezali, cherry and yeetheinwin.
