Students in South Korea are taking the national college entrance exams while observing COVID-19 prevention measures.

About 490,000 students are taking the College Scholastic Ability Test at some 1,300 locations across South Korea on Thursday.

South Korea reported more than 500 new infections per day last week, and 540 on Wednesday. That's the highest level since March. The government has been tightening restrictions to deal with the resurgence in cases.

All exam takers were obliged to wear masks and partitions were placed on every desk. Students who had tested positive were allowed to take their exams in hospital.
