A concrete bridge is being constructed for public safety and convenience for eight remote villages in Mongphyat Township by Department for development for Border Areas and National Races under the Ministry of Border Affairs.
The bridge construction is being conducted with K 122.31 million, the fund of the department, allocated in 2018-2019 FY. The bridge which is 45 ft long and 17 ft wide is being constructed by Royal Mongphyat Dragon Construction Company and it has been completed by 50 percent and it will be finished in May 2019, according to engineer in-charge U Min Zaw Oo.
Before constructing the bridge, local people experienced flooding from the creek so that they faced difficulties in transportation, education, health and social affairs. Upon completion, it will bring traffic safety, convenience and swift flow of commodity to eight remote villages in the township.
