An opening ceremony of 19th annual conference of Myanmar Medical Association (Taunggyi) was held at the hall of MMA in Taunggyi this morning.
The ceremony was opened by Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Lin Htut, Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Myo Tun and Vice-Chairman of Myanmar Medical Association (Central) Rector Dr. Aye Aung. Then, they looked round the booths on medicines and medical equipment.
On the occasion, the state chief minister said that the conference aims at boosting mutual relationship between doctors, adding that it is the 19th of its kind which includes sport meets, symposium, booths on latest medicines and medical equipment.
The symposium to be conducted by professionals will help provide medical services to local people in the state. The state government is in the process of promoting medical services through cooperating with respective departments. With this, the Ministry of Health and Sports has allotted funds of over K 1.834 million for hospitals in Shan State 2018-2019 fiscal year.
Present on the occasion were state chief minister, state ministers, members of MMA (Central) and departmental personnel. The conference continues until 16 February.
