Officials from the district development supervisory committee inspected construction of an inter-village road in Kyaukme Township, Shan State on 16 May.
The earthen type road is six miles long and includes 21 box culverts. The road is being built by a tender winning private company with Ks. 244.1010 million of the Union Budget. Construction task of the road has been about 75 percent finished so far, with the remaining road section is expected to complete this fiscal year.
Once completed, more than 2,500 local people from 629 households from nine villages will be able to use the road in all seasons and socioeconomic statuses of residents will improve.—Mai Tun (IPRD)
