The Department of Rural Development is building a rural road in Kyauksan Village, Minbu Township under its VDP and the project has been about 80 percent finished.

The village consists of 499 houses and 1777 people. The rural road is 9,190 ft. long and 6 inch deep and is being built by the DRD with Ks. 10.8 million. Construction of gravel road began in late March and was completed by 80 percent so far. The DRD gives the close supervision for timely completion and meeting the set standard.

With a view to uplifting socioeconomic status of local people, 16 villages in the township have been selected by the DRD to implement Ks. 160 million worth the Village Development Plan, said an official from the township DRD.—Thurein (Minbu)
