Construction works of rural roads in 26 villages in Meiktila District, Mandalay Region have been completed by 100 percent, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.

A total of nine rural roads measuring nine miles and one furlong long and 12 ft. wide and nine inches thick have been constructed by eight tender winning companies since the second week of June last year with Ks. 474.8 million and now, all the projects were completed 100 percent.

In addition, 18 slab culverts and five box culverts were also constructed with Ks. 99.86 million and now, all the projects have been completed 100 percent.

The roads will benefit 4580 acres of farmland of 16492 people from 26 villages in the District, helping them transport rural products to the markets in a timely manner.—Thein Myint Kyaw
