Seventeen people were hospitalized after they ate wild mushrooms found in a pine forest in Tonzang Township, Chin State on 14 June, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Seventeen construction workers including Than Lin Oo, 35 years old from the Department of Road under the Ministry of Construction who were engaged in road maintenance works between mileposts 103 and 104 on the Tonzang-Kyeekha Road suffered symptoms including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea eating toxic mushrooms on 14 June.
The employees were sent to a nearby public hospital in Kyeekha. Out of the poisoned people, ten people were allowed to leave the hospital and the remaining were still receiving medical treatment at the hospital.—MOHA
