Magway, 29 December

Magway Region reported 29 more virus cases on Monday, raising the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in the region to 2,479, according to data released by the Department of Public Health.

There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed virus patients on December 28 were from Myothit, Salin, Magway, Yanangyoung, Pyintbyu, Myaing, Pakkoku, Natmauk, and Minbu Townships.

A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. One more death was confirmed in Magway Region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.

Magway Region recorded 2,479 confirmed coronavirus cases in total, with 2,127 patients discharging from hospital and five fatalities.
