An opening ceremony of a Covid-19 course for volunteers was held in combination of heath gears donation at the meeting hall of Minbu township general administration department in the town of Minbu, Magway region this morning.

First, Magway region Social Affairs Minister Dr. Khin Maung Aye explained the aim of the training course, saying that quarantine centers are in need of more volunteers who are committed to help the country fight Covid-19. Necessary medical equipment such as masks and personal protective equipment will be provided to the volunteers by the regional government, said the minister.

Then, the regional minister donated 100 suits of personal protective equipment, 500 pieces of facial mask, seven infrared thermometers, three bottles of Hand Gel and one goggle glasses to U Thein Zaw, chairman of Minbu township Volunteers Support Group.

During the 3-day course, Dr Su Myat Noe will give lectures about Covid-19 prevention, control and treatment to 60 volunteers.—Maung Maung (Minbu)
