A discussion about prevention of Covid-19 was held at the meeting hall of General Administration Department in the township of Nyaungdone, Ma-ubin district, Ayeyarwady region this morning.
First, township administrator U Moe Kyaw Thu opened the discussion reporting on the work situation of the township committee on prevention, control and treatment of Covid-19. He said that migrant workers who went abroad and returned home need to inform the respective administrators and health centers of their arrival. And health authorities must place them under 14-day quarantine as a precaution against the new coronavirus, he continued.
Then, Dr Soe Hlaing Oo, head of the township Public Health Department presented about preventive measures against the new coronavirus - raising awareness among the people about the virus, putting up posters about the virus, handing out leaflets about the virus.
Afterwards, the township administrator and Ayeyarwady region MP Daw Ni Ni Moe handed over 10 pieces of infrared thermometers and 30 sets of protective body suit to Dr Soe Hlaing Oo. These health gears were purchased by Ks six million of coronavirus fund raised by the township management committee.
The meeting reached an agreement to use no-1 basic education high school in the town and school buildings in the villages of Thabyay Chaung, Sarmalauk, Maezali, Hnga Pyaw Gyun and Chaunggyi as quarantine centers for those who will arrive in the township from abroad.
The regional MPs, the township management chairman, departmental officials, ward/ village administrators and members of social organizations joined in the discussion.—Walar Naing( Nyaungdone)
