TO celebrate the 78th Anniversary of Union Day, an MSME exhibition and competition will be held from 10 to 14 February 2025, at Tabaung Ground near the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw. This marks a unique event in Union Day celebrations, showcasing products from micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across Myanmar. The exhibition aims to boost national development by enhancing the competitiveness of MSME products and promoting economic growth in all states and regions.

The event will feature products from all 15 states and regions, including Nay Pyi Taw, focusing on local agricultural, livestock, and industrial products. This competition intends to improve product quality, foster innovation, and increase regional competition. Additionally, the exhibition will include a display of traditional foods and various agricultural and industrial products for sale, creating a vibrant marketplace for both exhibitors and visitors. Musical performances will also add cultural value to the event.

MSMEs will present a wide range of products, from high-value goods made from local agricultural and livestock outputs to items supporting import substitution and export growth. Entrepreneurs in industrial crafts and product manufacturing, as well as regional businesses, will showcase their goods. The event provides an opportunity for networking among MSME owners, enabling them to expand their market reach, exchange ideas, and gain insights from new business models. This networking will encourage collaboration and foster the growth of MSMEs nationwide.

The exhibition will also serve as a platform for MSME entrepreneurs to exchange technological innovations, enhance production capabilities and foster new market opportunities. Entrepreneurs can learn from one another, adopting new ideas and improving their business operations. By introducing new products into the market, this event aims to generate further economic opportunities and contribute to national development.

Preparations for the exhibition are nearly complete, with 75 per cent of the work finished as of January 2025. By 8 February, all setups will be finalized. A total of 53 MSME entrepreneurs will display between 200 and 300 products made from locally sourced materials, including agricultural goods, export items, and import-substitution products.

The MSME exhibitions and competitions are a testament to the unity of Myanmar’s ethnic communities, bringing together entrepreneurs from across the nation to share their products and ideas. It promotes economic growth by fostering collaboration, introducing new products to the market, and supporting the development of MSMEs.
