A ceremony to present crop compensation to 13 farm owners for loss of crops in the project area of Hanthawaddy International Airport began, was held at the meeting hall of the regional government office in Bago yesterday afternoon.

Firstly, Regional Minister for Planning and Finance U Nyunt Shwe said that experts from the Rubber Entrepreneurs Association, departmental officials, village administrators together with farm owners made several field trips to the construction site of the airport to evaluate the damages of the crops as Hanthawady International Airport is a national level airport. The minister also expressed thanks to farm owners for their contributions to materialize the international airport in Bago.

Next, Advocate-General of the Bago Region U Ohn Myint explained matters relating to the agreements as crop compensation will be paid in accordance with it. A total of more than Ks. 155 million were presented to 13 farm owners during the ceremony.—Hein Htet (Bago)
