A ceremony to present crop compensation for 1,382 acres of monsoon paddy which was damaged by the floodwater in 2018 to farmers took place at the meeting room of a basic education high school in Natgyichaung Village, Paung Township in Mon State yesterday.
At the ceremony, Lawmaker for Mon State parliament U Tun Min Aung, Deputy Township Administrator U Myo Ko Ko, Deputy Staff Officer from the Department of Agriculture U Sein Moung and concerned officials presented Ks. 13.82 million to the farmers from three villages whose farmlands were destroyed by the flood.
Ks. 10,000 from the Union Government’s emergency fund was provided to farmers as crop compensation for per acre of affected farmlands.—Ko Hein (Paung)
