Tachilek 14 August

A ceremony to present compensation for damaged crops and confiscated farmlands was held at the ward administrator’s office in Yanaungmyay Ward, Tachilek in Eastern Shan State on 13 August.
    
Some crop fields and farmlands in the project area were damaged when a detour was built in Tachilek Township. Crop and land compensation was presented to 11 farmers who have not been compensated yet due to various reasons. Similar event took place at a monastery on 7 August. On the occasion, Township Administrator U Chan Myae Saw expressed thanks to farmers for understanding. Next, the township administrator and an official from the Department of Road presented compensation to farmers.
    
Total amount of compensation to farmers was Ks. 62.5 million and the second event of its kind will be held on 16 August.—IPRD
