A ceremony to hand over a cyclone shelter was held in Htaunggyitan village in the town of Ahmar in Pyapon Township, Ayeyawady Region. 

The shelter was built with K 268 million funded by the government starting from 2019. Upon completion, it will be able to accommodate up to over 500 people. In Pyapon District, there are 43 cyclone shelters and some have been built and some are under way, according to District Department of Disaster Management.
