State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who is in Prague, the Czech Republic, was given an official welcome by Prime Minister Mr. Andrej Babiš at his residence at 10:30 am local standard time yesterday.
Firstly, the State Counsellor was greeted cordially by the Czech Prime Minister upon arrival at his residence. The Guard of Honour then played the national anthems of Myanmar and Czech. The State Counsellor received the salute from the Guard of Honour and inspected them with the Prime Minister.
Next, the Czech Prime Minister introduced the State Counsellor to the Deputy Prime Minister and other officials accompanying him at the welcoming ceremony and the State Counsellor then introduced her entourage to them.
The State Counsellor and the Czech Prime Minister then took a documentary photograph inside the residence, after which they held a private meeting.

Afterwards, the State Counsellor and the Czech Prime Minister attended the Myanmar-Czech Bilateral Meeting.
During the meeting, both sides discussed promoting the historical friendly relations between both countries in addition to bilateral cooperation, trade, investment and economic cooperation. They also discussed increasing interaction between the people of both countries, finding possibilities for implementing direct flights between Myanmar and the Czech Republic, promoting the global tourism industry, increased cooperation on education, healthcare and culture, and further state visits between the high-level dignitaries of the two countries.
The State Counsellor also officially invited the Czech Prime Minister to visit Myanmar, and then replied to questions posed to her at the press conference held after the meeting with the Prime Minister.

From there, the State Counsellor attended the luncheon hosted by the Czech Prime Minister at Hrzansky Palace and then signed the guestbook.
Union Ministers U Thaung Tun and U Kyaw Tin, Myanmar Ambassador to the Czech Republic Daw Yin Yin Myint and other officials accompanied the State Counsellor yesterday.

Earlier in the day, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi visited the grave of Mr. Václav Havel, former President of the Czech Republic, in Vinohrady Cemetery, Prague, and laid flower wreaths on his final resting place. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
