In the ongoing 2024-2025 Myanmar National League-MNL season, Dagon Star United and Yadanabon FC emerged victorious in their respective matches on 18 August.
At the Pathein Stadium, Dagon Star FC clinched a 1-0 win over Ayeyawady United. Ayeyawady United, which were unable to capitalize on their home advantage, suffered another defeat.
From the start of the match, both teams focused on aggressive play. In the 43rd minute, Dagon Star's defender Nyein Chan was sent off with a direct red card, resulting in his dismissal from the game. Despite playing with one-less players, Dagon Star managed to secure the win with a goal scored in the 74th minute by Zin Min Htun. The standout player for the match was Aung Thiha from Dagon Star FC.
In the match held at the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre, Yadanabon FC defeated Myawady FC with a dominant 3-0 score line. The goals for Yadanabon came from Ti Nyein Min in the 16th and 42nd minutes and Pyi Moe in the 90th minute. Ti Nyin Min was named as the best player for this match.
Following these matches, Dagon Star United has accumulated 15 points from seven games, while Ayeyawady United has four points. Yadanabon FC, after their victory, has 13 points from seven games, with Myawady FC remaining on four points.
