A small solar-energy power station was provided to Deedoaktaung village in Meiktila Township, according to Township Department of Rural Development.

Villages with difficult access to main power line were distributed electricity through a proportional contribution of Rural Development Department (60%), private entrepreneurs (20%) and local people (20%).

Under the supervision of the Rural Development Department, the Solar Mini.Grid 55KWp was implemented by Mandalay Yoma Co,Ltd on 24 April 2018. Now, a total of 126 households have now gone solar.

On 11 February, permanent secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Ministry Dr. Khin Zaw inspected the facilitation of solar panels and attended to the needs of the project.
