COMMANDER-IN- Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo received Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia at the hall of the Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on promotion of Pauk-Phaw relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries, cooperation in peace, stability and regional development in border regions, invitation extended by the government to armed insurgent groups to join peace talks, holding internal peace dialogues, Myanmar’s efforts in combatting illicit drug trafficking as a national duty while narcotic drugs pose a threat to all of humanity worldwide, cooperation with regional countries including neighbouring countries to eradicate online scams and gambling activities, and sectoral cooperation including technology and information between the two armed forces.
After the meeting, the General and the Ambassador had documentary photos taken.
Also present at the meeting together with the General were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The counsellor, the military attaché of China to Myanmar and officials from the embassy accompanied the Chinese ambassador. — MNA/ TTA
