DEPUTY  MINISTER  for  Con-struction Dr Kyaw Lin inspected construction  project  of  Myan-mar-Korea  Friendship  Bridge  that will link Yangon downtown area and its suburb Dala Town-ship yesterday morning.


Deputy  Director-General  U  Kyaw  Kaung  Cho  from  the  Bridge  Management  Depart-ment  and  Project  Director  Mr  Yun Ho Cho from the contractor company GS Engineering & Con-struction Corporation explained the construction project.


After  inspecting  working  platform  processes  to  bored  piles, the Deputy Minister looked into  construction  works  at  the  side of Dala Township.


A  total  length  of  the  fourlane and steel suspension bridge will be 1,867 meter, with 26.5 me-ter width and a maximum load-ing capacity of 75 tons.


The project is implemented by  US$157.83  million  loan  from  South Korea and $30.34 million of Myanmar government.


The  construction  project  was  begun  in  May  2019  and  is  expected to complete in October 2022. It has reached 7 per cent of the whole project.—MNA(Translated by Aung Khin)
