Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win attended the Asian Development Fund 12 (ADF 12) Midterm Review Meeting in Manila, the Philippines.The meeting was held on 28-29 February 2019.
At the ADF 12 Midterm Review Meeting, matters relating to a mid-term review of the ADF 12 (2017-2020), development effectiveness of the fund, disaster risk management and regional health security, on-going process for providing the allotment of fund as a special concessional assistance for Myanmar and Afghanistan, visions for the future and pre-arrangements for ADF 13 were discussed.
Under the ADF 12 programmes, low interest loans have been granted to Myanmar and Afghanistan as Special Allocation due to the status of resolving conflicts and less development conditions.
Myanmar and Afghanistan clarified the implementation, effectiveness of the loan schemes, and the ADF meeting has decided to grant the Special Allocation to Myanmar and Afghanistan in accordance with the recommendation of the ADF meeting.
Under the 12 ADF programme, implementation processes are being conducted to improve electric power distribution system, Maubin-Pyapon road sector upgrading, Ain Nu- Kaukayeik road upgrading, the Mandalay Urban Services Improvement Project, Yangon Region 230 kV Transmission Line, all-round agricultural development project, conducting vocational training programmes for youths, Mekong Sub-region Health Security project, highway upgrading project for Mawlamyine, Hpa-An and Myawaddy as of the Greater Mekong Subregion, Yangon-Mandalay highway road upgrade, electricity network development and agriculture improvement projects. —MNA (Translated by Win Ko Ko Aung)
