DEPUTY Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Than Swe received Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, yesterday at the Ministry of For­eign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.

 

During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions aimed at further strengthen­ing the existing Pauk-Phaw relations between Myanmar and China. They emphasized the importance of accelerating mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors, includ­ing the maintenance of peace and stability along the Myan­mar-China border, the latest developments on peace and the national reconciliation process of Myanmar, and the continued support of the Chinese Govern­ment for the sustainable peace and socioeconomic develop­ment of the people of Myanmar. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration be­tween the relevant agencies of the two countries in addressing the growing challenges of on­line gambling and telecommu­nication fraud networks in the border areas, reaffirmed their mutual support in regional and multilateral forums, and under­scored the importance of coop­eration on matters of shared interest. — MNA
