Develop engineering profession for serving the State and the people

ALL corps of the Tatmadaw are essential for serving the State defence duty not only in the peaceful period but in the military operations. Military engineering corps is responsible for moving, attacking and living of Tatmadaw through engineering skills and construction works.

Military engineers are vital to successfully implement the process of humanitarian aid and disaster relief as a national duty while performing the prompt response to natural disasters.

As military science and technology are changed, technology is increasingly applied in modern wars such as: to obtain complete information, to get safety and protection, to fight effectively, and to make decisive battles in a short period.

The engineers need to have the continuous learning in military science and technology at the international level. They must perform to improve their ability by using the continuous learning in the subjects.

As science and technology have reached the stage of ‘inventing and utilizing’ from ‘exploration and applying’, those engineers have to proficiently learn continuous changing and evolving military science.

Engineering is transforming the natural environment into the development of socio- economic life. To become a proficient engineer indeed, they need to be mastery in the sciences such as physics, chemistry and mathematics.

To produce engineers who can support the socio-economic development of the country, the engineering knowledge that they are under training needs to be qualified. Engineering knowledge is continuously changing and improving so the academic system for engineering is changing to utilize and explore new technologies in accordance with the modern age.

The DSTA performs the study of benchmarks comparison with the curriculums and educational aids of some international and local technological universities, and also implements the most basic and important processes of accreditation processes according to the Myanmar Engineering Council Law, so engineering degrees of DSTA will be recognized soon at the Asia-Pacific level through the Myanmar Engineering Council.

The Tatmadaw must perform the peace and stability of socio- economic, unity and development of the nation and people as much as the engineers can do with physical and mental ability while serving the national duty. In doing so, those military engineers must conduct to succeed the internal and external unity of the military unit. Tatmadaw men in all corps will have to serve the assigned duties with goodwill for the nation and the Tatmadaw.
