The closing of a primary school level Dhamma school teachership training course took place at a religious building in Tanai Township, Kachin State on 30 April.
The ceremony was opened by reciting “Namo Tassa” three times. The congregation received the “Five Precepts” from a senior Buddhist monk and shared the merits gained. Next, the congregation received Ovadakatha from a senior Buddhist monk. The head of the township police force and a Kachin State lawmaker explained the purpose of the week course.

Afterwards, representatives from the township Dhamma school committee presented cash assistance to the Kachin State Dhamma School Committee and souvenirs to the course instructors. The course was jointly conducted by the Dhamma School Foundation (Central) and the township Dhamma school committee and was 1207th time of its kind in the country.
The ceremony then concluded with the three-time recitation of “Buddha Sasanan Ciran Titahtu” (May the Sasana endure forever).—IPRD
