With the aim to distribute drinking water in rural areas in all seasons, the Department of Rural Development is implementing digging tube wells and related works across the nation. Now, Meiktila Township Department of Rural Development is undertaking digging tube wells in seven villages in the township.
The water supply projects undertaken in the township have been completed and the projects were implemented with 137.38 million allocated by funds of the Department in 2019-2020 FY.
With the aim of solving water scarcity in the villages in the township, a tube well with a depth of 400 ft in Gwecho village, four tube wells with a depth of 400 ft in Nyaungbinhla, Hpalankyin, Magyigone, Aine villages and construction of water tank capable of storing 2000 gallons of water and water plants have been undertaken.
In addition, digging tube wells and construction of water tanks were also implemented in Myintawkan and Segone villages. Now, the projects have been completed, said Township Officer from the Department of Rural Development U Aye Zaw Myint.
