Under the Rural Water Supply Project in Central Dry Zone, Department of Rural Development and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) jointly conducted digging tube well and related projects in Myayswun village-tract in Chauk Township, Magway Region starting from fourth week of April. Now, the digging well project has been completed, according to the Township Department.


The digging tube well which is 820 ft in depth and construction of a water tanker capable of storing 2400 gallons of water and a water plant which is 10 ft in length, 8 ft in width and 8 ft in height are being implemented with K 22.161 million funded by the Rural Water Supply Project in Central Dry Zone.


Digging three tube wells, construction of an earthen water reservoir and two water supply projects are being undertaken with K 109.12 million in six villages in the township and now it has been completed by 90 percent, said Township Officer Daw May Thet Naing from Chauk Township Department of Rural Development.


Upon completion, a total of 3780 people from 781 households will be available sufficient drinking water in all seasons.
