An event to provide cash assistance to the persons with disabilities was held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Tanai Township, Kachin State yesterday afternoon.

The Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement supplied K 30,000 each to 398 persons with disabilities in the township under its emergency response initiative amid the ongoing the Covid-19 pandemic. Officials from the department provided K 11.94 million to the disabled people during the event.

Kachin State Minister for Immigration and Human Resources Development U Zaw Win presented cash provisions to respective ward and village administrators on behalf of the disabled people who could not attend the event.
