Namsang, 11 July

The Fire Services Department (FSD) and the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) jointly organized a natural disaster preparedness drill at the Nawarat Hall of the basic education high school (1) in Namsang Township, Palaung Self-Administered Zone in Shan State yesterday morning.

At the event, an official from the FSD shared knowledge about natural disasters such as earthquake, landslides and mudslides that used to happen in monsoon season and preventative measures. Next, the natural disaster drill was conducted with the aim of rescuing people when natural disaster occurs in the region. The students and volunteers from the MRCS were involved in the earthquake drill.—Aung Moe (IPRD)
