The closing of a township-level disaster management course was held at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Myingyan, Mandalay Region on 22 January.

On the occasion, Chairman of the district management committee Deputy Commissioner U Tint Hlaing delivered an address, saying the course is conducted with the aim of carrying out rapid response tasks when natural disasters occur in the area. He also urged the trainees to apply the lessons learned in the course in their respective fields.

Afterwards, course instructors from the Department of Disaster Management lectured the trainees about drawing up plans for unpredictable and predictable disasters, measures to be taken when natural disasters happen and disaster-post rehabilitations. The three-day training course was attended by 30 trainees from concerned departments.

Also present at the event were Acting Township Administrator U Than Soe Lin, and departmental officials, and the trainees were presented completion certificates.—Zaw Min Naing (Myingyan)
