THE Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers and Entrepreneurs Association has reported receiving up to 100,000 daily orders for cooking oil (palm oil) through their call centre. Approximately 6,000 households benefit from a door-to-door delivery service each day.

“To provide convenience for workers in industrial zones, we have introduced a door-to-door cooking oil delivery system,” said U San Lin, Chairman of the association. “The system has proven effective during the trial period, ensuring direct distribution to consumers. For others, we use an oil purchase booklet system to ensure smooth access, which has also been highly efficient”.

The delivery service caters to about 6,000 households daily, reaching up to 150,000 households monthly.

This door-to-door system, launched on 31 July 2024, is supervised by the Yangon Region Government in collaboration with the Yangon Region Consumer Affairs Department and the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers and Entrepreneurs Association. It aims to support households struggling to access cooking oil shops and provides a convenient and quick delivery solution. — ASH/TMT
