U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Min­ister and Union Minister for For­eign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Both sides cordially dis­cussed the matters pertaining to the further consolidating of the existing Pauk-Phaw relations, the promotion of legal coopera­tion to jointly address transna­tional crimes, the enhancement of collaboration between the rel­evant departments to combat online gambling and telecom­munication fraud networks along the border areas, the strength­ening of tri-lateral cooperation among Myanmar, China and Thailand including cooperation with regional and international community and the maintenance of peace and stability along the Myanmar-China borders.

 

Moreover, U Than Swe, Dep­uty Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of My­anmar, received Mr Dusit Man­apan, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, yesterday at the Min­istry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

Both sides cordially ex­changed views on further en­hancing the existing bilateral ties and collaboration across various sectors in areas of mutual in­terest, enforcing the post-earth­quake rehabilitation and recon­struction efforts. Moreover, both sides deliberated together on the further enhancement of ongo­ing cooperation and discussed matters pertaining to the ad­vancement of the multi-sectoral cooperation, stability along the border and strengthening peo­ple-to-people contacts as well as closer collaboration at both regional and multilateral are­nas. — MNA
