A concrete road is being built by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Melthamu Village, Hlaingbwe Township in Kayin State.
    

Construction of the rural road began in the third week of December and the project has reportedly been 60 percent finished so far, according to the DRD. The new rural road measuring 125 ft. in length, 12 ft. in width and 6 inch in thick is being implemented with 22 million kyats funded under the Community-driven project under the close supervision of the DRD.


Once completed, the new road is expected to contribute to improving education, health and road transport for locals.
