Wuntho, 6 May
Three small bridges built with Ks. 10 million by the Department of Rural Development under the “Village Development Plan” were opened to public in Zeephyupin Village, Wuntho Township in Sagaing Region on 5 May.
First of all, regional legislator Daw Khaing Khaing Win, Chairman of the township development committee U Nay Myo Tun, an official from the DRD, and the executive officer of the township municipality opened the bridges by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. The speeches by the regional lawmaker and the township administrator followed.
The village administrator expressed thanks to the DRD for building the bridges because the residents will be able to travel to another areas in all seasons as most parts of the village has been submerged by floodwaters in the past.—Min Myint Mo
