With a view to creating job opportunities for rural people, the Department of Rural Development organized a basic sewing course at its meeting hall in Mrauk-U, Rakhine State this morning.

First of all, U Ko Ko Maung, deputy Township Administrator of the General Administration Department delivered an opening speech. Afterwards, an official from the DRD clarified the purpose of the course.

Also present on the occasion were officials from the GAD, the DRD and the Planning Department departmental staff, the course instructors and trainees.

The two-week course is being attended by 25 trainees throughout the township.—District IPRD, Mrauk-U
