The opening ceremony of a basic training course on carpentry and masonry took place at a religious edifice in Mokesoekwin Village, Myaungmya Township in Ayeyawady Region yesterday.

 

The training course was conducted by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation with the aim of creating job opportunities for rural people, said Assistant Director U Nay Lin Soe from the DRD. On the occasion, the deputy director of the DRD delivered an address and an official from the DRD explained matters relating to the course. Afterwards, a trainee spoke words of thanks.

 

Next, concerned officials presented awards and completion certificates to the trainees. “I have more confidence and hope to apply the techniques learned in the training course practical ways,” said Ko Myo Lin Htay, one of the trainees. in The training course run from 7 January to 9 February and was attended by about 25 trainees throughout the township.—Aung Min (Myaungmya)
