The Department of Rural Development is carrying out water supply projects in rural area in Kyaukme Township, Northern Shan State with the Union Budget.

The DRD is undertaking water supply tasks such as implementation of tube wells and ponds, manual wells and stream water fetching system to ensure availability of clean water for rural people in order not to occur water scarcity in rural area. 

The department is building tube wells, installing a water treatment factory and digging an earthen pond by using Ks. 495.69 million allocated by the government in the fiscal year 2018-2019.—Min Myint Mo (Ngazun)
