One man was injured after a six-wheeled truck plunged into a ravine on the Ann-Minbu Road in Ann Township, Rakhine State, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The accident took place between mileposts 59/1 and 59/2 on the Ann-Minbu Road near Taungzaut Village in Ann Township at about 5:30 a.m. on 8 November when a six-wheeled truck loaded with bags of beans plummeted into a 300 inch canyon due to faulty breaking system. The truck driven by a man identified as Soe Ko Ko, 38 years old from Let Oo Kon Village in Hinthada Township, Ayeyawady Region was heading to Sittwe, Rakhine State from No.2 Industrial Zone in Hlaingthaya Township, Yangon Region.
The driver sustained minor injuries as he managed to escape from the incident but he is being questioned over reckless driving by the police.
