The opening ceremony of a drug rehabilitation course was held in Namkham Village, Wuntho Township in Sagaing Region yesterday morning.

The course was jointly organized by the Department of Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the local government. Also present on the occasion were Speaker of Sagaing Region parliament U Than, Director-General of the Department of Rehabilitation U Win Naing Tun, lawmakers, departmental staffs, residents and trainees.  At the ceremony, the regional parliament speaker made an opening speech before the director-general of the DoR extended greetings.

The 45-day course is being attended by 45 trainees. The DoR is conducting 3-month drug rehab courses in Myitkyina, Lashio, Mandalay and Pyay.
