Policemen from Hpa-an District Police Station on 7 May stopped a motorbike driven by Saw Zaw Myint Lay at the junction of Hpa-an-Indu Road and Naunglung-Tawpon Road in Hpa-an Township and seized 401 stimulant tablets and a mobile phone from him.

Upon information received from, the police continued to seize  8156 stimulant tablets and three mobile phones  from three men, identified as Aung Soe Moe (a) Soe Moe and Win Sein from Hnaing Kya Village, Hpa-an Township and Khin Maung Tint (a) Atint from the town of Hpa-an. 

Similarly, policemen from Mabein Myoma Police Station in Shan State (North) on Monday searched a hut, located near Seinaing stream in Moelone village track, and seized 711 grams of heroin and a motorbike. As a result of investigation, police confiscated more 72 grams of heroin.

Policemen from Banyan Police Outpost also stopped a motorcycle driven by Sai Kan with Sai Hlain on board   and seized 1550 stimulant tablets from them on the same day.

The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
