A coordinated operation by the Anti-Drug Squad led to multiple drug seizures across various townships on 15 June.
At 9:45 a.m., police officers intercepted a motorcycle on Shwebo Road in Ward-5 of Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Region. The motorcycle was being driven by Than Htet Win, with Nan Myint Thu as a passenger. Upon inspection, authorities discovered 10,000 stimulant tablets, valued locally at 200 million kyats (2,000 kyats per pill).
Following the arrest, an investigation led officers to a house in Chemyitpin Village, Kying Ga Naing Village Tract, Naung Cho Township. At 12:30 p.m., the home of Tun Lwin and Mazarni Lwin—identified as drug sellers—was raided, resulting in the seizure of 390 stimulant tablets, worth approximately 7.8 million kyats.
Later that afternoon, at 1:00 p.m., police searched the residence of Hnin Hnin Wei near Mesai Creek in Mekhaung Ward, Tachileik Township, Shan State. They discovered 7,400 stimulant pills, estimated at a local value of 5.18 million kyats (700 kyats per pill). At 1:15 p.m., officers also raided a house on Thilashin Kyaung Street in Pan Moe Village, Pinglong, Loi Lem Township. There, they confiscated 5,000 ecstasy tablets, with a total local value of 2.5 million kyats (500 kyats per tablet).
All individuals involved have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force. — (MPF)
