Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotic Drug Squad searched a vehicle driven by Naung Min Aye with Tin Maung Tun and Mah Hnin Hnin Wei on board on Loilem-Taunggyi Road near Hotint Village in Loilem Township on August 26 at about 8:00 pm and seized 800000 stimulant tablets in the car.

After making some interrogations, Than Naing and his wife Mah Mya Mya Thi were arrested along with a vehicle and stimulant tablets at a checkpoint in Kinthar Village in Tatkone Township at about 9:00 pm in the same night.

Similarly, police members raided the house of Mah Kyi Kyi Naing in Ward-4 between Anawratha Road and Maha Bandhula Road in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon Region on August 28 at about 2:50 pm and discovered heroin weighing 22 kilos in the house. According to an investigation, authority also raided the house rented by Mah Kyi Kyi Naing and seized more heroin weighing 0.59 kilo in the house.

Mah Kyi Kyi Naing, 41, has been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
