Acting on a tip-off, Anti-Drug Squad police stopped a Toyota Crown near U Tun Aung Bridge, Tachilek Township, Shan State on June 10 and arrested Aishen Phu, 38, after seizing 60 kg of methamphetamine (worth K480 million). He was charged under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law.

In a separate case in Lashio Township, authorities apprehended Thein Soe Aung on Kyar Ni Road, Ward-3, and found 30,000 meth pills valued at K150 million. A follow-up search of Laung Woe’s house on Khaing Shwe War Street, Ward-7, in Lashio, uncovered 20,800 meth pills and 110 grams of heroin (worth K2.2 million).
