Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, stopped and searched an express car on the Taunggyi-Yangon road near Kywetatson Village in Thazi Township, Meiktila District, Mandalay Region, at 1:00 a.m. on 8 January. During the search, they seized 80,000 stimulant tablets. Following an investigation, the team raided the house of Ma Ommar Myint Soe in Ward-1 of Mahlaing Town, Mandalay Region, at 12:30 p.m. the same day, confiscating an additional 6,000 stimulant pills.
In a similar incident, a combined team raided the house of Nay Ye Linn in Oktantar Ward, Lawksawk Town, Shan State, at 11:30 p.m. on 9 January, seizing 1,800 stimulant pills. During the investigation, Kyaw Kyaw Lat was apprehended in Zawgyi Ward, Lawksawk Township, with 8,000 stimulant pills in his possession.
The culprits have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force.— MNA
